"What goes in must come out. Otherwise, it will burn you and everyone around you”
You might be feeling more irritable than usual. Or maybe you’ve been snapping at people and then wondering, “Where did that come from?” Perhaps old memories are resurfacing — things you thought you’d buried long ago — and you don’t know what to do with the emotions bubbling up.
If that’s you, you’re not alone, you probably are very affected by the monthly energy. The energy this month is loud, emotionally charged, and unavoidably intense.
June is governed by the Ren Wu pillar — think of it like a hot molten lava from volcano: pressure building beneath the surface, water boiling from the inside, and then — eruption. But here’s the thing: after the lava cools, the soil becomes rich and fertile. There’s destruction, yes, but there’s also opportunity for deep renewal.

That’s what this month is about.
What Is Ren Wu Energy?
Ren Wu is a pillar made up of Ren (Yang Water) sitting on Wu (Horse). The combination although sentimental, is highly dynamic, almost explosive and emotional especially if lack of awareness. This is an energy that wants to move, express, erupt. When suppressed, it builds pressure. And eventually, it has to come out — one way or another.
That’s why you may notice intense feelings rising from nowhere. You might feel fine one moment, and full of rage the next. This is energy trying to find release.
Emotions Will Surface – That’s the Point
Ren Wu doesn’t let things stay hidden. It brings up the unresolved. And with the Horse month (Wu) and Snake year (Si) — both strong fire elements — there’s no hiding from what’s been simmering inside.
Whether it’s grief, resentment, anger, shame — these emotions will likely rise this month. And that’s not a problem. Feeling is not the enemy — suppression is. Suppressed emotions become internalised stress, illness, and often explosive reactions when we least expect them.
The good thing of this energy? Once it’s expressed — healthily — it has the power to nourish. Just like volcanic ash eventually enriches the soil, your emotions, once released and understood, become a source of personal growth and strength.
Ren Wu reminds us that destruction often comes before healing. Which sometimes might seem like ..
Getting angry at something small, only to realise it is triggered by an old wound.
Feeling anxious and unsettled, only to trace it back to a memory you never fully processed.
Feeling a rage that isn’t about now — but about something from long ago.
Don’t ignore it. You don’t have to solve it right away — but just acknowledge it.
So when old memories rise or you feel like you’re not being the person you want to be — pause. Don’t beat yourself up. Growth is not linear. You’re allowed to feel. You’re allowed to struggle. You’re allowed to start again every day.
Let the fire rise. Let the water flow. This month, feel it all — and let it transform you.
How to Manage Ren Wu Energy
So how do you actually work with this energy instead of being overwhelmed by it?
Here are a few simple but powerful ways:
1. Breathe
Your breath is your anchor. When emotions rise, come back to your breath. Slow, intentional breathing helps regulate your nervous system and prevents reactionary spirals.
2. Check Your Heart
In Chinese Medicine, the Heart isn’t just physical — it’s emotional and spiritual too. Stress, anxiety, palpitations, insomnia, and even lack of joy are all signs your Heart is overwhelmed. Don’t ignore these signals. Rest when you need to. Ease pressure. Your heart is the seat of your spirit — treat it with care.
3. Watch for Body Clues
This month may show up physically as:
Migraines or headaches
Tight chest or palpitations
Coughing
Tiredness or hyperactivity
Let your body be the messenger — not the enemy.
4. Stretch, Don’t Sprint
Yes, movement helps — but make it grounding. Exercise is great but be mindful to not overdo it. Too much cardio might just be another form of emotional escape. If this ever happens, swap high-intensity cardio for slower, deeper movement like stretching, yoga, or even mindful walks.
5. Don’t Force Meditation — Start With Breath
If sitting still feels impossible, that’s okay. You don’t need to be a monk. Just start with conscious breathing. Even two minutes can make a difference.
If this month stirs up anger, resentment, or regret — know that these feelings are valid. What matters is how you handle them.
Ren Wu reminds us: You don’t heal by pretending nothing happened. You heal by letting the fire burn clean.
