When You Feel Stuck in Life, Are You Really Stuck — or Are You Stuck in Yourself?

Have you ever felt like you are living the same patterns over and over again?

You know you want change.

You know your career no longer fulfils you.You know the relationship isn't working the way you want it to.You know something needs to shift.

But somehow, you just can't move.

You think about it. You analyse it. You talk about it.

And yet, you're still in the same place. Sometimes, the problem isn't that you don't know what to do.

The problem is that you cannot see yourself clearly enough to make a different choice.

This is where BaZi can offer a very interesting perspective.

The Four Pillars: More Than Just “Destiny”

In BaZi, we look at four pillars — Year, Month, Day and Hour.

And while many people approach BaZi looking for predictions about wealth, career, relationships or what is going to happen next, I believe there is something much more powerful we can gain from understanding the chart:

  1. Awareness of ourselves.

Because the Four Pillars can be viewed as different layers of the person we have become.

  • The Year Pillar reflects our grandparents, ancestry and heritage. It also reflects the environment and surroundings we were exposed to when we were young.

  • The Month Pillar reflects our parents, as well as our career, work environment and responsibilities.

These are circumstances that we did not choose. They are part of the external world that shaped us.

  • Then we have the Day and Hour Pillars, which bring us closer to our internal world — our mind, body, choices, desires and innate tendencies.

In simple terms, you can think of it as: What shaped me — and what happens within me. And both matter.

The Problem Begins When We Confuse Conditioning With Who We Are

Think about how much of your life was shaped before you even had the ability to consciously choose.

  • Your family.

  • Your childhood environment.

  • The expectations placed upon you.

  • What you were taught was “successful”.

  • What you were told was safe.

  • What you learned you had to do to be loved, accepted or recognised.

Then you entered adulthood and continued living according to many of those patterns.

  • You chose a career.

  • You took on responsibilities.

  • You built relationships.

  • You made decisions.

But how many of those decisions were actually your decisions?

And how many were simply an extension of what you had learned to believe about yourself and the world? This is where we can become stuck. Or so some, you call that "bad luck".....Not necessarily because life has trapped us.

But because our internal world has become so familiar that we mistake familiarity for truth.

When the Mind Becomes the Prison

When we don't understand ourselves, we can become trapped inside our own thinking.

We overanalyse. We second-guess ourselves. We fear making the wrong decision.

We keep looking for certainty before taking action.

We tell ourselves:

“Maybe later.”

“Maybe I'm not ready.”

“Maybe this is just how life is.”

“Maybe I should just tahan.”

And slowly, we become disconnected from what we actually want.

The mind keeps going in circles, but life doesn't move.

And that can show up everywhere, such as :

Career

You feel unfulfilled but cannot leave.

You want to change direction but don't know what direction feels right.

You keep telling yourself that you should be grateful — while quietly becoming miserable.

Relationships

You know something isn't working.

But you stay because the familiar feels safer than the unknown.

You keep repeating the same patterns with different people.

Life

You feel like you're functioning.

You're working.

You're achieving.

You're doing what you're supposed to do.

But somewhere inside, there is a quiet question:

“Is this really the life I want?”

And sometimes that question becomes louder and louder until we can no longer ignore it.

This Is Why Awareness Matters

Understanding your BaZi chart isn't about using destiny as an excuse.

Quite the opposite.

It is about becoming aware of the things that have been influencing you unconsciously.

Your chart can help you explore:

  • What shaped you?

  • What patterns have you inherited?

  • What environments bring out certain aspects of you?

  • What is your natural way of responding?

  • Where do you tend to get stuck?

  • What do you genuinely desire?

And perhaps most importantly:

Where do you actually have a choice?

Because there is a fundamental difference between:

“This is who I am.” and “This is how I have learned to be.”

That difference can change your life.

The Four Pillars Are All of You

We cannot simply look at the Day and Hour and say, “This is the real me.”

Because the Year and Month are also part of us.

Our heritage is part of us.

Our upbringing is part of us.

Our parents are part of us.

Our career, responsibilities and external environment are part of our lived experience.

But neither should we allow these external circumstances to completely define us.

There is also the internal self.

The part that can become aware.

The part that can choose.

The part that can respond differently.

The part that can say:

“This may have shaped me, but it does not have to define every choice I make from here.”

That is where empowerment begins.

You Don't Need to Fight Your Past

Awakening doesn't mean rejecting everything that came before you.

  • You don't need to blame your parents.

  • You don't need to reject your heritage.

  • You don't need to run away from your responsibilities.

  • And you don't need to become someone completely different.

You need to understand yourself deeply enough to know:

What is mine to carry? What is mine to change? What is mine to choose?

Because the goal isn't to erase your past. The goal is to integrate it.

  • To understand what shaped you.

  • To recognise the patterns that no longer serve you.

  • To reconnect with your internal self.

  • And then consciously choose how you want to move forward.

Perhaps You're Not Lost. Perhaps You Just Haven't Seen Yourself Clearly Yet.

BaZi is a mirror.

A way of seeing the different layers of yourself more clearly.

Because when you understand yourself, you create awareness.

When you create awareness, you create choice.

And when you have choice, you are no longer living entirely on autopilot.

That is where real transformation begins.

Not when someone tells you what your future will be.

But when you finally become conscious of who you are, what shaped you, and what you want to do with the life you have been given.

You are not just your past. You are not just your circumstances. And you are not just what your mind tells you.

You are the whole picture.

And perhaps the first step to becoming unstuck...

is finally being willing to see it.
